User Qualifications
The GRAD is a Level A (defined below) assessment instrument. Users of the GRAD assessment should become thoroughly familiar with the information and instructions contained in the user manual prior to the administration of the GRAD assessment. If users have further questions that are not answered by the user manual, then they should contact GRADcis and ask to speak with the Consultation and Training Coordinator to resolve any questions prior to usage. Users of any assessment tool should remember that assessments are only one method of gathering data, and this information should be considered in the broader context of what is known about the youth or child.
The information below is quoted directly from Whiston, S.C. (2000). Principles and Applications of Assessment in Counseling. Belmont, CA: Wadsworth/Thomson Learning.
“Level A: These are typically instruments that can be adequately administered, scored, and interpreted by using the manual. The orientation to these instruments is usually left up to the institution or organization in which the individual works. Test publishers will often not send these materials out unless the individual is employed in a legitimate or recognized organization or institution” (p. 93). |
