About Us
GRADcis, an affiliate of the Ohio State University Center for Family Research, is dedicated to the advancement of a risk/needs instrument known as the Global Risk Assessment Device (GRAD). Empirically tested in numerous published studies, the GRAD generates reliable and valid information about the multifaceted needs of at-risk youth and their families in an easily-accessed and secure Internet environment. User-friendly case management features that are customizable to the specialized needs of courts, schools, and related agencies (child welfare, mental health, substance abuse treatment facilities, etc.) accompany the assessment device. Together, these information tools streamline an organization’s ability to take advantage of the “assessment drives intervention” potential of the GRAD. Reliable and valid appraisal of threats to adolescent well-being guide and direct the case planning process, which in turn will play a major determining role in subsequent treatment planning and supervision for at-risk youth.

The developers of the GRAD are Courtney Yarcheck-Gavazzi and Stephen M. Gavazzi, Ph.D.

GRADcis is housed inside of the OSU Center for Family Research.
